As part of the schools policy to make sure that its provision meets the needs of each individual child, we take account of any special needs which a child might have. The Pre-school works to the requirements of the 1993 Education Act and The Special Educational Needs Code of Practice (2000). The Pre-school's Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator is Karen Bunce.

Children who stay for lunch are required to bring their own "healthy" packed lunch. The Pre-School provides the children with healthy and nutritious snacks once in the morning and again in the afternoon. We ask you to tell us about your childs dietary needs and we will make sure these are met. At snack time the children eat together to encourage their social skills.

The Pre-School provides protective clothing for the children when they play with messy activities. A change of clothing is required for PE activities. (Rising fives only). The Pre-School encourages children to gain the skills which help them to be independent and look after themselves. These include taking themselves to the toilet and taking off and putting on outdoor clothes. Clothing which is easy for them to manage will help them do this. PLEASE ENSURE ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING ARE CLEARLY NAMED.
